We have completed our tests with the Toughguard and are very impressed. The series of tests we ran were for durability, shine and protection.
 
Durability: We applied the Toughguard as outlined in the instructions to a bonnet of a test vehicle. This bonnet was washed many times (30+) with harsh detergents. The Toughguard maintained its shine and seemed to improve with each wash.
 
Shine: We have found a lot of Paint Protection products out there with unrealistic claims, saying never wax and polish again. Because of our experience with many paint protection products, we found many lost their high gloss shine after only a month or two. This left many customers confused and despondent to future services. We have found that Toughguard so far has maintained its high gloss shine even after being subjected to many harsh tests and environments.
 
Protection: In Australia we are fortunate or unfortunate to have Eucalyptus trees. These trees have a very sticky sap which is also quite acidic. Not the best friend for vehicle paint work. I have seen many cars paint work ruined beyond repair because of these trees. Our bird life in Australia is also prolific making droppings on paint work quite an ordeal to continually clean. I am fortunate to have a large eucalyptus tree right out the front of my property making testing easy and convenient. We have had our test vehicle constantly parked under this tree. The leaves fall onto the vehicle the sap falls onto the vehicle and the birds find it an interesting target. We left the residue on the paintwork for 1 week to see if there was any degradation of protection. We were very pleased that when we cleaned the bonnet with a mild detergent all the sap, stains from leaves and bird droppings came off easily. There was no residue or marks left on the paint work, just a lovely shine.
 
We give ToughGuard the thumbs up down here in Oz.

Hi Bill,
I'm placing my order for three more bottles of your Toughguard ---and I m giving two away for Christmas!

Two years ago, my friend bought a brand new 2002 Acura TL, Type S and we Tough Guarded his car---and with the extra were able to do my 1992 Acura Vigor. After that, we didn't need to do anything but wash it and they looked GREAT!

Recently, he brought the TL into the dealer for scheduled maintenance and next to the brand new 2004's; we noticed they look shinier than the new ones! Someone noticed that and the GM wanted the car moved along so as not to make the new cars look bad.

One year when it was very cold here in Chicago, I helped a woman at the train station by jumping her battery. She told me it must be nice to have a new car! I said, What year is your car? She told me, It s a 1993. I said, Well, mine is a 1992! and her jaw just dropped (her car really needed some Tough Guard ).

Well, I sold the 1992 Acura and now have a black 2002 Ford Explorer. I can t wait to see how it looks all shined up!

hi Bill,
I received the Toughguard package on the 10th of march. I applied it last weekend to my brand new mazda 6 (velocity red). very happy with the finished product. people commented how richer the paint looked compared to when I picked it up. I especially like the way that after it rains it seems to wash off any dirt or road grime leaving the car looking very shiny and the way water just beads off. very happy indeed !

I finally got around to applying the wax -- to my car on the 31st and to my wife's car on the 1st. 
 
the stuff works!  what I like best is that it seems to resist dirt better than other compounds/waxes -- so that a week later I think a good breeze would blow off the dirt, or I could just wipe off the dust.
 
I'm not sure if there is a "play" at my end with this stuff but I know I like the results...

Hey,

First of all I just applied the Toughguard to my Honda Element this weekend and it looks great! Amazing how smooth it is. Looking forward to seeing how it holds up!

I have a question about your Vinyl & Leather Protectant, is it good to use on the outside plastic panels of a car? My Element has a lot of plastic parts on the outside and I wasn't sure if the Vinyl and Leather Protectant was good to use on that? It is not really vinyl, so just wondering what would be good on the plastic parts on the exterior of the car. Thanks for your help.

Dear Bill,

It was nice to see you again and to have your Toughguard sealant applied to my new Audi S8. This is the forth car that you have applied Toughguard on for me over the last fifteen years, and your product is superb. I have never needed to wax a car over this period, and the cars' finish always look like they have just been detailed.

I live in the country and drive a lot on gravel roads where the summer dust and the winter mud are a problem for most of my neighbors. The smooth surface that your product gives my car finish resists dirt and mud. When it's time to wash the car it cleans easily.

Keep up the good work. I'll be back when I buy another car.
